For candidates
Verify once. Own it. Trusted everywhere you apply.
Veref is candidate-owned verification. One identity check, one record, yours forever. No fees, no surveillance, no automatic rejections.
What Veref means for you
Four things we promise every candidate.
Verify once, not ten times
Pass identity verification one time, with one employer. From that point on you skip the same check at every other Veref employer on the network.
Your verification belongs to you
Your Veref Passport sits in your account, not the employer's. They get access, not ownership. You decide who sees it.
No automatic rejections, ever
Veref never auto-rejects a candidate. Every signal is evidence for a human recruiter. You are never filtered out by a score you cannot see.
You see what employers see
Full transparency on what was captured, what was flagged, and what each employer received. Nothing hidden.
How it works
From first link to lifelong Passport.
You are in control at every step. No surprises, no hidden scoring, no dark patterns.
You get a Veref link from an employer
No software to install. It works in Chrome or Edge on your laptop.
Verify your identity (about 45 seconds)
Government ID scan and a selfie liveness check. The image data is used only to confirm you are real, then stored as an encrypted template.
Your interview, with trust built in
Same interview, same recruiter. Veref runs checks in the background so nobody has to ask awkward questions about whether you are who you say.
Your Passport is created
After the interview, your verified record lives in your Veref account. Share it with future employers, or don't.
Next time, you skip the line
At every next Veref employer, you approve a share and move straight to the interview. No re-verification, no re-upload.
Your Veref Passport
A single verified record that travels with you.
Most verification tools work for the employer. The Passport works for you. It lives in your account, it is free, and it saves you from repeating the same identity check every time you apply somewhere new.
- Persistent, candidate-owned verification credential
- Consent for every share, revocable at any time
- Minimal public profile (name, verified credentials, nothing else)
- Free for candidates and referees, forever

Your data, your rules
Four rights that are not negotiable.
Approve each employer one at a time. See exactly what they can access. Nothing shares by default.
Revoke access any time
Change your mind? One click and the employer loses access. Your Passport stays intact for future shares.
Export your whole record
Download a machine-readable copy of your Passport whenever you want. It is yours.
Delete it permanently
Ask and we erase your Passport and every associated record. No questions, no retention.
Setting the record straight
What Veref is, and what Veref is not.
Myth
Veref is spyware on my laptop.
Truth
Veref runs in a browser tab. It does not install software, it does not read your files, and it cannot see anything outside the interview window.
Myth
Veref decides who gets the job.
Truth
No. Veref gives the recruiter signals. A human always makes the hiring decision. We never auto-reject a candidate, ever.
Myth
My biometrics will be sold or used to train AI.
Truth
We store encrypted templates, not raw images. Biometric data is never sold and never used to train third-party models. You can delete it all, at any time.
Myth
I will have to verify again at every employer.
Truth
The opposite. The Veref Passport exists precisely so you can verify once and carry the trust with you to every other employer on the network.
Myth
This will slow down my application.
Truth
Identity verification takes about 45 seconds the first time and zero seconds after. Most candidates say the Veref flow is faster than a typical recruiter email back-and-forth.
The candidate-positive difference
We only exist if candidates actually want to use us.
Our entire model depends on candidates choosing to carry a Veref Passport. That is not marketing. That is the business. It is also why you will never see Veref behave like a surveillance tool, because it would kill the company.
Candidate FAQ
Answers straight from the team.
Is Veref free for me as a candidate?+
Yes, always. Candidates and referees never pay a cent. Employers pay for the platform.
Do I have to use Veref for this interview?+
If an employer has asked you to use Veref, it is part of their hiring process. You can always decline, but the upside is that your verification travels with you and you will not have to repeat it with the next Veref employer you interview with.
What if my ID gets rejected?+
Verification occasionally fails on the first try (bad lighting, blurry photo, etc.). You can retry right away, and a human on our support team is one email away at hello@veref.work if anything is wrong.
Can I use Veref if I am not currently applying for a job?+
Not yet. For now, a Veref Passport is created when an employer invites you to verify. Candidate-initiated Passports are on our roadmap.
Does Veref record my whole interview?+
Interviews may be recorded by the employer as part of their normal hiring process. Veref analyses the stream for integrity signals in real time. You will always be told recording is happening before it starts.
How do I access my Passport?+
Your Veref account at account.veref.work (launching with the product) holds your Passport, your share history, and your data controls in one place. Until then, contact hello@veref.work and our team will handle any request manually.
What if an employer asks me for data I am not comfortable sharing?+
You are never required to share anything you do not want to. If a specific employer is asking for more than you are comfortable with, email us at hello@veref.work and we will help.
Still have questions?
We reply to every candidate email, usually within a few hours.
You will only ever see this page if an employer sends it.
When that day comes, you will verify once and carry the Passport with you. That is it.
